Georgia Tech continued the fortification of its defensive line, as defensive end Albany Casey of Bay Minette, Ala., announced his commitment Tuesday via Twitter.

Casey is the fifth defensive lineman to commit to Tech’s 2020 signing class. A three-star prospect (247Sports Composite), Casey also reported scholarship offers from Duke, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas, among others.

Casey has suffered three ACL tears, according to AL.com, two in his right knee and one in his left. The most recent was during spring practice of this year.

Tech has 15 scholarship defensive linemen slated to return next season, including two-way lineman Jahaziel Lee, and five will be seniors.

Casey, listed at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, has the height and reach that coach Geoff Collins has made a priority in recruiting. From Baldwin County High near Mobile, Casey is the second player in the class from Alabama, following offensive lineman Trent Howard from Birmingham. Tech’s class stands at 22 following the recent decommitment of safety Nick Turner from New Orleans.
