The big reveal for the new-look Georgia Bulldogs is set for April 18.
That’s the date for the annual G-Day spring football game at Sanford Stadium. On that date, Georgia fans will their first look at the Bulldogs’ offense under the direction of new offensive coordinator Todd Monken and graduate transfer quarterback Jamie Newman.
UGA announced coach Kirby Smart’s spring plans via the football team’s official Twitter account Tuesday. As expected, the Bulldogs will return to Woodruff Practice Fields on March 17, which is the week after UGA students return from spring break. Georgia will practice three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, until the big dress rehearsal April 18.
The NCAA allows a maximum of 15 spring-practice opportunities, and the Bulldogs will utilize all of theirs over a five-week period.
Georgia is coming off a 12-2 season in which it finished as SEC Eastern Division champions for the second consecutive season but also missed the College Football Playoff in consecutive years. The Bulldogs finished with a No. 4 final national ranking in 2019, or one spot below where they started the season.
