Aaron Dowell of Creekside signed with Central Florida.
Three things to know about Dowdell:
1. Change in plan: Dowdell decommitted from Georgia after the coaching change in Athens. The 6-4, 300-pounder instead is headed to Orlando to be a part of the Central Florida Knights. Dowdell announced he was reopening his recruiting on Jan. 21 and posted on Twitter on Monday that he was committing to Central Florida. He signed with the Knights on Wednesday.
2. UCF is happy: Dowdell is the 20th-ranked offensive guard in in the nation by 247sports.com. He is the highest-rated member of Central Florida's recruiting class.
3. Size that's highly sought: Dowdell had been committed to Georgia since last February. It was considered a big blow for the Bulldogs at a position of need, when he bolted for UCF. But now it's a big boon for a Central Florida program in need of some energy.
