The College Football Hall of Fame, under construction in downtown Atlanta, Thursday announced the start of a campaign to sell commemorative bricks that will be placed inside and outside the facility.

College-football fans can purchase the bricks, engraved with a name and a message, for prices ranging from $100 to $300. Proceeds will go toward the Hall of Fame’s construction and programs.

“The brick campaign is a way for football fans to literally be a part of – even in – the Hall of Fame,” John Stephenson, president and CEO of Atlanta Hall Management, the organization in charge of building and operating the Hall of Fame here, said in a statement. “We hope people will have some fun with it and maybe take the opportunity to honor their favorite school, player, coach, family or friends.”

Options include 4 inch-by-8 inch bricks on the exterior walkway adjacent to the entrance ($100), 8 inch-by-8 inch bricks on the walkway ($200) and 4 inch-by-12 inch bricks on a wall lining the replica football field inside the facility ($300). More information: www.cfbhall.com/bricks

The College Football Hall of Fame, relocating to Atlanta from South Bend, Ind., is slated to open in the fall of 2014. It is being built on a former Georgia World Congress Center parking lot, across Marietta Street from Centennial Olympic Park.
