Georgia Tech received its 10th commitment for the 2019 recruiting class – linebacker Chico Bennett from Franklin, Tenn. Bennett announced his decision on Saturday via Twitter.

Speaking in May, Bennett said he was choosing between Tech, Virginia and Tennessee. Bennett is a three-star prospect (247 Sports composite) who plays outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense at Battle Ground Academy. He is rated the No. 33 prospect in the state of Tennessee.

He is the second linebacker to join the recruiting class (following Ahdarrious Gee of Crisp County High) and continues a stream of commitments in recent days. Since June 14, five prospects have accepted scholarship offers from the Tech coaching staff. Bennett’s area recruiter is inside linebackers coach Andy McCollum.

Bennett reported his scholarship offer from Tech on March 2. Besides Virginia and Tennessee, he also held offers from Wake Forest, Louisville, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

Bennett is 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds. He has a long, lanky body, hits with power and plays with quickness coming off the edge.
