David McCormack, a junior center at Norfolk Academy in Norfolk, Va., is considering playing college basketball with Georgia Tech.
The 4-star junior is 6-foot-9, 290 pounds, and is currently ranked No. 2 on 247Sports’ list of best 2018 recruits in the state of Virginia. McCormack is also ranked No. 20 on the 2018 ESPN 60 player ranking.
McCormack has received an offer from Georgia Tech and 18 other schools including Kansas, Maryland, Auburn, Baylor and Florida State, according to 247Sports.
On Aug. 19, McCormack took an unofficial visit to South Carolina, according to 247Sports.
In his junior season, McCormack and the Norfolk Bulldogs finished their 2015-2016 season 12-10 and went 4-5 in their region.
As his junior season develops with the Bulldogs starting in November, McCormack will be a recruit to keep an eye on for Tech. McCormack’s strength and size make him a force in the paint on the high school level.
