Nick Saban and Alabama always come into Georgia and grab someone of significance, and this year it’s Miller Forristall, a tight end for Cartersville.

Three things to know about Forristall:

1. A former QB: Forristall began his high school career as a quarterback, a towering 6-foot-5, 220-pounder with promising athletic ability. He trained — and wanted — to be Cartersville's quarterback. He was the starter as a junior, but things changed. Forristall missed some time with injury, and a freshman backup with equal physical attributes by the name of Trevor Lawrence emerged. Forristall didn't fight it, trusted that his coaches were making the best decision for the team and his future and seamlessly moved to tight end. Lawrence blossomed into the top-ranked 2018 quarterback prospect in the nation. Together, Lawrence and Forristall went on to win the 2016 Class AAAA state championship, connecting on the game's only touchdown in a 10-0 win over perennial-power Buford.

2. Adapting quickly: Despite playing the position for less than a season, Forristall earned a scholarship to Alabama, where he hopes to play as a hybrid wide receiver-tight end position, similar to what Crimson Tide star O.J. Howard did for Saban's team this championship season. Forristall caught 57 passes for 902 yards with 11 touchdowns this season for the 15-0 state champion Purple Hurricanes.

3. A hard-working Hurricane: Forristall won Cartersville's offseason award the past two years. "It's great when your hardest-working player is also going to Alabama," Purple Hurricanes coach Joey King said.
