Much of it has been parceled out over the several weeks and months, but the Georgia men’s basketball team finally got its 2014-15 scheduled finalized and announced it on Friday.

Coach Mark Fox’s Bulldogs, who return three starters and 11 lettermen from team that went 20-14 overall and reached the second round of the NIT, will play one of the school’s most challenging overall schedules in years. Starting with an ambitious non-conference slate, Georgia is expected to play 18 teams that participated in post-season tournaments this past season.

The Bulldogs will have their earliest-ever meeting with rival Georgia Tech (Nov. 14 date in Atlanta), play in the NIT Season Tip-off tournament (vs. Gonzaga, at least), face off against Colorado (at home) and Kansas State (on the road), and see SEC traditional foes Kentucky, Florida and Tennessee return to the schedule.

“We’ve put together what I think is an extremely challenging non-conference schedule,” Fox said Wednesday. “It’s the type of schedule that, toward the end of the season, will give us terrific numbers in terms of strength. We’re also excited to have our traditional SEC teams back to Athens. It will be great for our fans and for our game-day experience.”
