Georgia’s basketball team is putting together a pretty impressive schedule for next season. Add Kansas State to a slate that already includes Seton Hall, Georgia Tech and Colorado, not to mention who ever the Bulldogs draw in the Preseason NIT Tournament.

UGA recently entered into an agreement with Kansas State for a home-and-home series that will begin on Dec. 31 this year in Manhattan, Kan. The Wildcats will return the game to Athens on Dec. 22, 2015.

Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity signed the deal for the two games April 15 and the contract was released to the AJC on Thursday as part of an open-records request. Neither team will receive a payment for the game but there is a $75,000 damages clause should either team cancel of the game without mutual consent.

Georgia returns four starters and 10 lettermen from the team that finished 20-14 overall and second in the SEC. Coach Mark Fox has set out to play a more competitive non-conference schedule.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to open the season in the 2014 NIT Season Tipoff, with the second half of four games being played in New York. Those opponents have not been determined yet, but Georgia is one of four regional hosts, along with Gonzaga, Minnesota and St. Johns. They also play host to Seton Hall on Dec. 21, have a return game coming from Colorado, a road game at Georgia Tech and a short road trip to Chattanooga in the away game of a two-for-one exchange with the Mocs.

K-State was 20-13 last season (8-8 Big 12) and lost to Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Including walkons the Wildcats return 11 players from that team.
