Georgia Tech coach Brian Gregory called the decision to not bring back guard Chris Bolden for his senior season “in the best interest for the program and for Chris.”

Bolden served a six-game suspension at the end of the season for violating the school’s student-athlete conduct code. It was his second suspension, and the suspension would have been extended had Tech won its opening-round game at the ACC tournament.

Bolden is in summer school at Tech and is on track to earn his degree in December, which Gregory said “was important to him, his family and me.” At that point, he could transfer and have immediately eligibility as a graduate.

In three seasons, Bolden played 86 games, starting 40, and averaged 6.5 points per game. His 30 3-pointers this past season, on 92 attempts, were second on the team.
