Former Georgia Tech center Ben Lammers will join the Charlotte Hornets for a four-day minicamp starting Monday in advance of the team’s summer-league play in Las Vegas that starts July 6.

Lammers was a free agent after he wasn’t drafted June 21 in the NBA draft. The minicamp is not necessarily a guarantee that Lammers will take part in the summer league, as the Hornets have invited 19 players to the camp and are not likely to take all of them.

Should Lammers make it onto the summer-league roster, he would have the opportunity to earn a spot in training camp with the Hornets. It’s also an exposure opportunity to be picked up by another team for its training camp, and also to be seen by teams from the G-League (formerly the D-League) and from overseas leagues.
