Georgia Tech defensive end Jeremiah Attaochu was named to the third team of the Associated Press All-America team. He is Tech’s first AP All-America since Derrick Morgan and Demaryius Thomas earned the honor in 2009.

Omoregie Uzzi was named All-America by online publications in 2011 and 2012.

Attaochu finished the regular season with 12 sacks, 10 of them in the past five games. Attaochu was also named first-team All-ACC by the league’s coaches and third-team All-ACC by media.

Tech will face another All-American, Ole Miss safety Cody Prewitt, in the Music City Bowl Dec. 30 in Nashville, Tenn. Prewitt was named to the A.P.’s first team.
