Alabama’s football team left the Georgia Dome on Saturday night with hopes of playing two more games and winning one more championship this season — but without expressing a preference for their opening opponent in the College Football Playoff.

A 42-13 victory in the SEC Championship game clearly earned Alabama — No. 1 in the selection committee’s most recent rankings — a berth in the four-team playoff bracket, which will be set Sunday.

“To me, it really doesn’t matter who we play,” wide receiver Christion Jones said. “It’ll be great to play any of the teams that are in the playoff. They’re all there for a reason.”

Receiver DeAndrew White said the Crimson Tide viewed Saturday’s game as the start of a potential three-game postseason.

“We played one. We put ourselves in position to have another two if we do what we’ve got to do,” White said. “When the time comes for that week, we are going to dial up and get ourselves ready.”

Alabama’s Amari Cooper said it “doesn’t matter to me” who the Crimson Tide faces in the semifinals, but he made the team’s goal clear: “To win it all. That’s it. That’s the biggest thing I can hope for.”
