Defensive end Christopher Whittaker has narrowed his college decision to six schools and Tech is among them.

Whittaker, a senior of Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School in Hollywood, Fla., tweeted a list on Aug. 1. of his top schools as South Carolina, Notre Dame, UCF, Georgia Tech, Kentucky and USF.

Whittaker tweeted about his offer from Georgia Tech on June 15, writing he was "blessed to receive an offer."

According to Scout.com, Whittaker had set a date for a Tech visit as well as a visit to South Carolina on Aug. 12.

Whittaker's junior season highlight reel reveals why he's highly recruited by Power Five schools. At 6-foot-4 and 246 pounds, Whittaker's strength, especially in his legs, allows him to thrust through offensive lines on his way to attack the ball carrier. Whittaker also exhibits extreme patience for a high school defensive end, waiting for opportune moments when the ball carrier to come to him.

With 25 offers total and the most recent from Arkansas, Whittaker was highly considering Florida Atlantic, N.C. State and Illinois, according to 247 Sports. Whittaker posted photos of formal scholarship offers from Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech and UCF on Aug. 1.

The Chaminade-Madonna Lions open their season on Friday against North Miami Beach High School at home.
