Texas Christian University starting quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested days before his big game at the Alamo Bowl.

Police said Boykin was fighting with employees at Pat O'Brien's bar in San Antonio early Thursday morning, My San Antonio reported.

He was with a group of people who told police that they would get Boykin back to his hotel, but police said Boykin charged one of the officers.

Police tried to arrest Boykin, but he resisted, causing police to force him to the ground, ESPN reported. They eventually got him in custody, police said.

He has been charged with assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication, WFAA reported.

TCU released a statement saying: "We are aware of a situation last night and are gathering information. We will continue to closely monitor this and evaluate additional details as they become available."

TCU faces off against Oregon Saturday in the Alamo Bowl.
