No. 1-ranked  West Georgia fell from the ranks of the unbeaten on Saturday afternoon in Melbourne, Fla., as a furious second-half comeback came up just short in a 28-26 loss to Florida Tech.
Devontae Jackson rushed 21 times for 167 yards and two touchdowns for West Georgia, which was on top of the AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll. West Georgia falls to 9-1, 5-1 in Gulf South Conference play. FIT is 7-3 and 5-1 against conference opponents. The Wolves, Panthers and North Alabama are tied atop the GSC standings.
