Georgia Tech became the first team to score touchdowns in each of its first two possessions in the 11-year history of the ACC championship game. The Yellow Jackets mounted a pair of sustained drives of eight plays, 71 yards and 11 plays, 75 yards, with all 19 plays coming on the ground. The Yellow Jackets capped both drives with 1-yard touchdown runs by Synjyn Days and totaled 141 yards rushing in the first quarter…Tech had already amassed 194 yards rushing with eight minutes left in the second quarter, fifth most in the ACC title game history. The Yellow Jackets were trying to top their own record — the Yellow Jackets rushed for 333 yards in the 2009 ACC title win over Clemson…Isaiah Johnson made two tackles in the first half to break Jeremy Muyres’ record for career tackles by a Tech defensive back. With his 274th career tackle, the senior safety moved past Muyres (1999-02)…With his touchdown catch of 46 yards, Florida State’s Nick O’Leary tied N.C. State’s George Bryan for second place all-time in conference history for touchdowns by a tight end with the 17th of his career…The pre-game fireworks might have been a little much, leaving a dense fog hovering over Bank of America Stadium as Georgia Tech’s team was introduced. The Yellow Jackets couldn’t be seen running out of the tunnel from the stadium’s club level on the opposite side. It had only started to clear when Florida State ran onto the field and didn’t subside completely until play had already begun.
