A 2-star defensive end out of Fairburn, Ga. Josh Swilling could join in the next generation of Swillings to play for Georgia Tech.
Swilling’s father, Ken Swilling, played safety for Tech during the Yellow Jackets’ last National Championship in 1990 and was named an All-American the same year. Swilling was drafted in 1992 to Cleveland Browns. Swilling was inducted into the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame in 2001.
After Josh Swilling’s cousin, cornerback Tre Swilling, committed to Georgia Tech on Aug. 22, Swilling’s goal was to convince his brother Bruce Jordan-Swilling and his cousin Josh Swilling to become Jackets as well. Jordan-Swilling was convinced and committed to Tech one day later, but so far, there is no news of Josh Swilling’s college decision.
Tre Swilling said on Aug. 22 that Josh Swilling was being recruited by Georgia Tech.
Swilling posted a video on his Twitter page in February of walking on Grant Field in Bobby Dodd Stadium in a visit to Tech. During his visit, Swilling posted a picture of himself in a Tech jersey.
According to 247 Sports, Swilling, a senior at Langston-Hughes High School, has an offer from Arkansas State and is interested in Georgia Tech. Swilling’s Twitter page documents other offers from Toledo, Hampton and Mercer.
Swilling also attended Tennessee's spring Orange and White game in April, according to his Twitter page.
