Running back Keith Marshall

Marshall explained his favorite play from last season, a 75-yard touchdown run vs. Tennessee on Sept. 29:

When the Bulldogs call a sweep left, it can unfold no better than this. Marshall took the inside handoff out of the shotgun. His linemen pulled left and did their road grading without mercy. “It was pretty much wide open,” said Marshall, whose job consisted of reading his blocking, identifying the sizable hole and shifting into overdrive. He exploded through the opening and sprinted up the left sideline. A Volunteers safety made a desperate dive, collecting only air. “You see that much open grass, it’s what you dream of,” Marshall said. “The coaches all the time talk about getting us to the safety, and then it’s our job to get past him and get the touchdown.”
