Another game against Clemson, another tight loss.

Georgia Tech had its lineup back together Saturday, but it wasn’t enough against the Tigers at McCamish Pavilion. A slew of second-half turnovers provided Clemson the resources for a 63-55win over Tech.

Tech (13-14 overall, 4-10 ACC) lost its ninth consecutive game to Clemson, a team that over the duration of the streak has been barely superior to the Jackets.

Clemson (17-9, 8-6) is in the hunt for its first NCAA berth since the 2010-11 season.

In the second half, Tech turned the ball over nine times in its first 25 possessions, leading to 14 of the Tigers’ 40 points in the second half. The ninth closed the door on Tech. With a little less than three minutes to go, Tech trailed 53-48 with the ball. On the wing, guard Chris Bolden tried to drive on guard Damarcus Harrison, but lost the ball, sending Harrison the other way for a layup and a seven-point lead.

Tech’s lineup was as strong as it has been since forward Robert Carter’s meniscus tear in December. Carter played his third game since returning, and guard Trae Golden played his best game since being sidelined with a groin injury. Golden scored a game-high 17 points with four rebounds. However, Carter contributed one point with six rebounds.

Tech is below .500 for the first time since the 2011-12 season, coach Brian Gregory’s first.

Gregory is 0-6 against Clemson. In those losses, the Jackets have lost by one point once, two points twice and four points once.
