How the winning run scored: Columbus' Chun-Hsiu Chen led off the second with a home run, leading to a three-run outburst and a 4-0 early lead Monday night that Gwinnett could never overcome. The G-Braves have lost two of the first three with Columbus at Coolray Field.

At the plate: G-Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich ended an 0-for-9 streak by hitting a solo home run in the sixth. The switch-hitter, who entered the night leading the International League in hits, has 79 hits in 64 starts.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter David Hale, a Walker School product, was roughed up early, giving up four extra-base hits and all five runs in the first three innings. Making just his second start since missing a month with a sore shoulder, he fell to 1-3 with a 6.12 ERA.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves conclude a four-game series with Columbus with a 12:05 p.m. start at Coolray Field. Gwinnett right-hander Omar Poveda (4-3, 3.24) gets the start.
