Carleton will make first MLS start for Atlanta United

Andrew Carleton will receive his first start in MLS as part of Atlanta United’s (12-4-5) starting 11 for Saturday’s game against D.C. United (3-7-5) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Carleton is in for Barco, who didn’t make the 18.

Carleton, a native of Powder Springs, was the team’s first Homegrown signing. Additionally, Eric Remedi is in the 18. He recently was signed by the team from Banfield in Argentina.

The starters:

> Goalkeeper Brad Guzan, who will make his 21st start.

> Right fullback Franco Escobar, who will make his 14th start.

> Centerback Michael Parkhurst, the team’s captain.

> Centerback Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, who will make his 20th start.

> Left fullback Chris McCann, who will make his 11th start.

> Holding midfielder Jeff Larentowicz, who make his 360th MLS start.

> Midfielder Julian Gressel, who has two goals and eight assists this season.

> Right midfielder Hector Villalba, who has three goals and four assists this season.

> Left midfielder Andrew Carleton, making his first MLS start. He has four appearances in league games this season.

> Attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron, who has eight goals and nine assists this season.

> Striker Josef Martinez, who leads MLS with 19 goals.
