How the winning run scored: Shortstop Sean Kazmar's triple led to a two-run first inning and his two-run double in the fourth opened a 4-1 lead, allowing the G-Braves to split a four-game series at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, S.C.
At the plate: Of Gwinnett's 12 hits, seven went for extra bases. Alden Carrithers homered for Gwinnett in the ninth, his third of the season. Kazmar, who entered the game hitting .219, went 2-for-3 with four RBIs.
On the mound: G-Braves starter Yohan Flande went the distance, allowing eight hits and two earned runs while striking out five and walking none. That capped off an excellent July, when Flande made six appearances (two starts) and went 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA.
