G-BRAVES 1, KNIGHTS 0
How the winning run scored: Having already lost seven one-run games, Gwinnett won a close one at Coolray Field Monday night, Jose Yepez doubling in Jordan Parraz in the fifth inning for the game's only run. Four pitchers contributed to the G-Braves' shutout, their third in four games.
At the plate: The G-Braves struck out 11 times and were limited to just three hits. Yepez's double was the team's only extra-base hit. Gwinnett stoles four bases, two of them by Jose Constanza.
On the mound: Starter Yohan Flande (1-0, 3.31) pitched six shut-out innings, despite allowing seven hits and a walk. Cory Ramus allowed two men to reach base in the ninth but converted his second save in as many opportunities.
Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves open an eight-game road trip with a four-game series in Louisville. Gwinnett right-hander Tim Corcoran (1-1, 3.21) faces righty Pedro Villarreal (0-1, 2.84) Tuesday night.
