Here are five things to know about the Hawks this week:

1. The NBA free-agency period continues, and the Hawks are not done with their roster. There is still a need for a backup point guard. By rough estimation, the Hawks currently have about $4 million in salary-cap space available. There are ways to increase that figure, but that is where it stands now. There is also the possibility of a trade to add to the roster.

2. The Hawks will hold a brief camp before departing for the Las Vegas Summer League that begins Friday. The Hawks' full summer league roster has not been released, but scheduled to play are Lamar Patterson, Edy Tavares, Taurean Prince, DeAndre Bembry, Isaia Cordinier, Matt Costello, Kevin Pangos, Diamon Simpson, Darington Hobson and Bryce Cotton. Prince and Bembry will have to sign contracts before playing.

3. The NBA's moratorium ends Thursday. The trade of Jeff Teague to the Pacers (in exchange for the draft rights to Prince) and the signings of Dwight Howard and Kent Bazemore can begin. The signings might now happen immediately for salary-cap reasons. It will also mean the end of the Al Horford era in Atlanta, as he can sign with the Celtics after agreeing to a deal Saturday.

4. The Hawks begin summer league play Friday against the Rockets. The first of three opening games will be played at 8 p.m. (ET) on the campus of UNLV. The Hawks will also play the Wizards at 4 p.m. (ET) Sunday and the Nets at 4:30 p.m. (ET) Monday. All three games will be streamed live on ESPN3.

5. The $3.3 million contract of Mike Scott becomes guaranteed Sunday. The Hawks could waive him before then and pick up more salary-cap space. The team would like to have Scott return for a fifth season. His legal troubles may not be concluded by the end of next season.
