Hawks point guard Jeff Teague was an NBA Player of the Week nominee. The Hornets’ Kemba Walker and the Warriors’ Klay Thompson won the awards in the Eastern and Western Conference for the week of Jan. 5-11.

In the Eastern Conference, Walker led the Hornets to a 4-0 week behind a league-leading 30.3 points per game, including back-to-back 30-point performances. He also averaged 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals.

Thompson helped the Warriors to a 3-0 week and led the Western Conference in scoring at 27.7 points per game, including a 40-point game. For the week, Thompson connected was 13 of 26 (.500) from 3-point range and 14 of 15 (.933) from the free-throw line.

Teague, who has been nominated for Player of the Week several times this season, helped the Hawks to a 4-0 week. He averaged 17.5 points and 8.0 assists.

Other nominees were: the Nuggets’ Arron Afflalo, Pistons’ Greg Monroe, Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, Pelicans’ Anthony Davis, 76er’s Robert Covington, Trail Blazers’ LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard, and Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins.
