The playoffs will continue for Hawks’ rookies Edy Tavares and Lamar Patterson.

The Austin Spurs forced a deciding Game 3 of their NBA Development League Western Conference semifinal series with a 116-91 home win over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Thursday night. The final game in the best-of-three series will be Saturday at 1 p.m. (ET) in Austin.

Both Tavares and Patterson came off the bench.

Tavares, the center, had 18 points, on 9 of 10 shooting, with seven rebounds and two blocks in 17 minutes.

Patterson, the guard/forward, had five points, on 2 of 5 shooting, with five assists, four rebounds and one block in 22 minutes.

Should they advance in the eight-team postseason, the Austin Spurs would play the winner of the Reno Bighorns-Los Angeles D-Fenders series.
