If you are going to go up against a former team for the first time, this is the way to do it.
A reporter joked with Tiago Splitter recently about the ‘huge’ upcoming game on Wednesday – the Hawks’ first preseason home game which will be against the Spurs. Splitter spent all five of his NBA seasons with the Spurs, after being selected in the first round of the 2007 draft. He made his debut three years later and was part of the Spur’s NBA Championship team in 2014. He is a Hawks player now following an offseason trade.
The center admitted it will be strange to play against his former teammates but a preseason contest will make it a little easier.
“It will be (strange),” Splitter said. “Always when you play against a former team, a least the first couple (of games) it’s strange to play against them. It will be good to see them in a different environment. It’s the preseason so everybody can joke a little bit more and play.”
