Kyle Korver will again help gather donations of socks to help the homeless in Atlanta.
The drive - dubbed Socktober - was announced by Korver on Twitter Wednesday. The Hawks guard helped with the charity last year which collected 4,000 pairs of socks in cooperation with Atlanta Mission. Korver said this year the goal is to collect 10,000 pairs because “on any given night in our city there are 10,000 people without a place to call home.”
Korver said drop-off sites around the city are being determined. Socks will also be collected at the Hawks exhibition game against the Pistons on Oct. 18 at Philips Arena. The first 50 fans to donate at the game will recieve a pass to get meet and receive an autograph from Korver.
