Thabo Sefolosha continues to make improvement from a right calf strain but his return to action is not imminent.
The reserve guard/forward has missed the past 17 games with the injury - a Grade III strain indicating a slight tear of the muscle. Sefolosha was injured on Jan. 30 with an original diagnosis of to miss 6 to 8 weeks.
“He is doing more basketball activities,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “He is making the progress that we expect.”
Sefolosha has taken part in shoot-arounds but has yet to go through a full-contact practice. The next step will be to do one-on-one work. He will work up to two-on-two and three-on-three work before he is cleared to practice.
Sefolosha did make the Hawks’ six-game road trip that begins Wednesday against the Nuggets.
