Report: NBA considering longer All-Star break
The South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Saturday that the NBA might extend the All-Star break from a few days to a full week next season.
A person “familiar with the process” told the Sun Sentinel that such a decision would produce one or two additional back-to-back sets per team.
The newspaper reported that release of the next NBA schedule has been delayed to August to give TV networks time to adjust to moves made during free agency, including LeBron James’ decision to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Sun Sentinel, citing its source, also reported that some consideration has been given to starting the season a week early, but that option has not gained traction.
