Lou Williams won his second NBA Sixth Man of the Year award on Monday.

The Clippers guard, from South Gwinnett High, averaged 22.6 points, 5.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 32.8 minutes in 79 games this season.

Williams, 31, also won the Sixth Man award following the 2014-15 season with the Raptors, the season after he was traded from his hometown Hawks. The 13-year veteran spent two seasons, 2012-14, with the Hawks.

Williams, who was an all-star candidate, twice won the Western Conference Player of the Week award this season. He shot .435 from the field, including .359 from 3-point range.

The Raptors’ Fred VanFleet and the Rockets’ Eric Gordon, who won the award last year, were the other finalists.

“It’s an honor to win this award tonight,” Williams said. “… I want to thank the Clippers organization for the opportunity to be myself, allow me to go out on the floor and do my thing.

Williams agreed to a three-year, $24 million extension with the Clippers in February.
