Kyle Korver is feeling better.

That’s a good sign for him and the Hawks.

The sharp-shooting guard has worked to regain his shooting form this preseason after a summer laid up following ankle and elbow surgeries.

Korver had nine points, seven in the first quarter, in an 82-81 exhibition loss to the Grizzlies Wednesday night. He was 3 of 7 from the field and 1 of 4 from 3-point range. His one long-distance basket came from 26 feet. It’s not about the points or the shooting percentage at this point. It’s about the feel.

“I definitely felt, physically, the best I’ve felt the whole preseason,” Korver said. “That’s encouraging. I feel like my rhythm shooting is OK. I can still keep getting better but it’s feeling significantly better than even it was a week ago.”

Korver his averaging 8.0 points in 21 minutes through six exhibition games. He is 13 of 36 (.361) from the field and 8 of 23 (.348) from 3-point range.

“I’ll just say this, I feel like he’s getting there,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “I feel like the last couple of games have been better and he has been doing things that are kind of more of what we are accustomed to. I would hesitate to say he’s all the way back. He basically had a summer that he couldn’t play pickup ball, he couldn’t do things for a long time. I think he’s getting there. He and I both feel like he’s in a good place and ready for the season.”
