Kings coach George Karl had high praise for several Hawks players before Monday’s game.

Karl will be coaching his 10th game with the Kings following his hire at the NBA All-Star break. He was asked what has been the difference in the Hawks between this and last season.

“Trust,” Karl said. “They trust each other at a high level. I think they are the best team in basketball in finding the open 3. They believe in the 3-ball.

“(Al) Horford is a mini Tim Duncan. Sometimes you look at his stance or the way he plays the pick-and-roll, he’s a mirror of Tim Duncan.

“I think (Paul) Millsap is an unsung, really talented player. I loved him in Utah and he’s gotten better here. They’ve opened the window of using his creativity and his versatility at a high, high level. People forgot he was the number one rebounder in NCAA basketball. He has a knack for the game that very, very few players have.

“Three years ago, I didn’t think (Jeff) Teague would be this good. I’ll admit it. The kid now is probably in my top 10 (point guards). There are so many good point guards but he is really good. He’s gotten better at the pick-and-roll than I thought. I loved him last year in the playoffs. His character and his courage in the playoffs last year was pretty impressive.”
