Paul Millsap did not practice on Wednesday – but the culprit was illness and not a rehabilitating right knee.
The Hawks forward went through his first full-contact practice of training camp on Tuesday. He has been limited since undergoing a non-surgical procedure on his knee due to persistent swelling.
Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said Millsap’s knee responded well to the full workout, a good sign as he looks to play in at least one exhibition game before the start of the regular season on Oct. 27.
Budenholzer said it was undetermined whether Millsap will play in Thursday’s home exhibition against the Pistons.
“Now we have to see how he is feeling in general and then we’ll have to see how the knee is feeling and if it’s time to give him a shot,” Budenholzer said.
Millsap complained of a sore throat when he spoke to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution following Tuesday’s practice.
