UPDATE: Dwight Howard will be inactive for Wednesday’s game against the Timberwolves. He will miss his second straight game with back tightness.

Dwight Howard will remain as questionable on the Hawks injury report in advance of Wednesday night’s game against the Timberwolves.

Howard missed with Hawks’ win at the Thunder due to back tightness.

Both Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer and Howard said Wednesday morning that the starting center will warm up prior to the game before a decision is made on his status.

“It’s a lot better than it was a couple days ago,” Howard said. “It continues to get better. We’ll see how it feels tonight and go from there.”

Budenholzer said the team will continue to be cautious with Howard concerning the issue with his back.

“He is getting better but it’s something we want to be on top of and maybe even ahead of.”

Should Howard not be able to play, Budenholzer would not commit to a starting lineup. Against the Thunder, the Hawks played Dennis Schroder at point guard, Paul Millsap at center with wings Kent Bazemore, Thabo Sefolosha and Kyle Korver. Budenholzer said the Timberwolves’ roster will likely mean a different lineup.

“With Karl-Anthony Towns, he is one of the great young players inside scorers,” Budenholzer said. “Their perimeter is a little bit different.”
