Al Horford has returned to the Wasserman Media Group as his agent, the Hawks center said Friday.
Horford joined with Bill Duffy of BDA Sports Management earlier this year. He had been represented by Arn Tellem at Wasserman for much of his career. He briefly left the agency when Tellem joined the front office of the Pistons.
Horford will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season as he enters the final year of his contract with the Hawks.
“It’s just a personal decision,” Horford told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I just felt more comfortable being with Wasserman.”
The Hawks can currently only offer the three-time All-Star a minimal raise on his current $12 million yearly salary in an extension. He can re-sign with the team for a substantial increase, or leave for another team, but only after becoming an unrestricted free agent.
