Quote of the game

“It’s tough. You throw up a shot like that and make it.” – Paul Millsap on Draymond Green’s dramatic 3-pointer in the closing seconds

Report card

Offense: B

The Hawks hung with the Warriors despite trailing by double-digits in the first half. They had solid runs in the third and fourth quarters to take the lead, including making six straight shots to start the final quarter. The offensive stalled after they took a four-point lead late in the game. Missed 3-pointers by Paul Millsap and Al Horford were not ideal shots to start overtime. Turnovers were an issue as they had 17 for the game. Two straight turnovers moved Jeff Teague to the bench for the final 22:11 of the game.

Defense: C-plus

The Hawks were not good in the first half as they surrendered 32 first-quarter and 59 first-half points. They were much better in the second half, allowing the Warriors 50 combined points in the second half and overtime. They played solid defense before Green hit a from-the-hip 3-pointer at the shot clock with 40 seconds left that sealed the game.
