The Hawks released guard Josh Magette on Saturday, the final cut of preseason that brought the roster to the maximum15 players.

Magette was added to the training camp roster on a non-guaranteed deal after the Hawks had injuries at point guard.

Magette appeared in just three of the Hawks’ seven exhibition games. He played a total of 17 minutes and averaged 1.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He did not play in the Hawks’ final two exhibition games. He practiced with the team on Saturday before the roster move was made.

“He’s a good player,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said Saturday. “We get to see it in practice more than anyone else. Totally impressed.”

Budenholzer confirmed the Hawks will go into the regular season with two point guards in Dennis Schroder and Malcolm Delaney.
