The Hawks waived on forward Deyonta Davis on Monday.

The move creates an open roster spot for the team as it enters next week’s NBA draft with six selections.

Davis, 22, played in nine games with the Hawks last season after signing a pair of 10-day contracts (March 19 and 29) and then a partially guaranteed contract (April 8). He was scheduled to make $1.6 million next season.

Davis averaged 4.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 13.1 minutes with the Hawks. He spent two seasons with the Grizzlies after being a second-round pick of the Celtics in 2016.
