The Hawks waived Antonius Cleveland on Saturday.

Cleveland had a non-guaranteed contract worth $1.378 million. The move will help the Hawks complete the three-team trade with the Thunder and 76ers agreed upon Thursday involving Dennis Schroder.

Cleveland appeared in four games with the Hawks last season. The guard averaged 3.3 points and 1.0 rebounds in 10.4 minutes. He also was a part of the Hawks’ entries in the Utah Jazz and Las Vegas Summer Leagues and averaged 9.7 points, 1.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds.

Cleveland was signed to a multi-year contract March 14 after two consecutive 10-day contracts Feb. 22 and March 4, despite being unable to play because of ankle surgery. Cleveland was unlikely to make the Hawks’ opening-day roster.

The three-team trade is still not expected to be official for a week. In the deal the Hawks receive Carmelo Anthony and a 2022 first-round draft pick from the Thunder. Anthony will be bought out and become a free agent. The Hawks will also receive Justin Anderson from the 76ers. Schroder, the Hawks’ starting point guard the past two seasons, will be traded to the Thunder, who also will receive Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot from the 76ers. The 76ers will receive Hawks forward/center Mike Muscala.
