“Trust the process” they chant in Philadelphia.

It still has a way to go.

The Hawks never trailed after taking the lead midway through the first quarter after a sluggish start on the way to a 104-72 victory over 76ers on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks (2-0) were led by five double-digit scorers. Paul Millsap led the way with 17 points followed by Kyle Korver (15), Mike Muscala (14), Thabo Sefolosha and Dennis Schroder (10). Schroder had a double-double with 11 assists, his ninth career double-digit assist game and eighth career double-double.

Dwight Howard was limited to two points and seven rebounds in just 19 minutes as the Hawks had the game well in hand after the center picked up his fourth foul in the third quarter. Howard had three blocks to move past former Hawks player Elton Brand into 24th place on the NBA/ABA all-time list with 1,830.

The Hawks won their fourth consecutive game against the 76ers.

Much of the 76ers’ optimism revolves around rookie Joel Embiid, who is finally able to play after being drafted in 2014. The 7-foot center scored 14 points in 15 minutes. Fans chanted “Trust the process” each time Embiid went to the foul line. The 76ers are loaded with first-round draft picks, many who have currently and in the past battled injury, especially Embiid.
