The Hawks have signed point guard Edgar Sosa to a training camp contract, according to a person familiar with the situation. The signing currently gives the team a roster of 19 before camp begins next week.

Sosa, 27, played collegiately at Louisville. He played summer league for the Pistons in 2010 before signing to play in Italy. He played a season in Germany before returning to Italy last season to play for Dinamo Sassari.

The 6-foot-2 guard most recently played for the Dominican Republic National Team in the FIBA Americas Tournament. Hawks assistant coach Kenny Atkinson coached the Dominican Republic, which advanced out of the preliminary round of the Olympic qualifying tournament.

In eight games in the tournament, Sosa averaged 15.1 points as he shot 54 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range. He also averaged 3.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds.

The Dominican Republic advanced out of the preliminary round with a 2-2 record. It lost all four games of the second round.
