Cartier Martin is back.

The Hawks signed the small forward, who played 25 games with the team to start the season, to a 10-day contract Saturday. The move comes after the Hawks elected not to sign small forward James Nunnally for the remainder of the season after his second 10-day contract expired Saturday.

“Cartier is somebody who is familiar with us,” coach Mike Budenholzer said. “We are comfortable. He did a lot to help us early in the year. I think we are all happy to see his face and everything that is Cartier back in the locker room.”

The Hawks waived Martin on Jan. 7 before having to guarantee his $884,293 salary. He averaged 6.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in his first stint with the Hawks.

Following his release, Martin played six games with the Bulls after signing a pair of 10-day contracts. He averaged 2.5 points and 0.8 rebounds.

Martin was available for Saturday night’s game against the Timberwolves.

With the move, the Hawks’ roster again stands at the maximum 15 players.

Korver declines invite: Kyle Korver has declined the NBA's invitation to participate in the 3-point shooting contest at All-Star weekend this month in New Orleans.

Korver told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he will spend the time with his wife and 1-year-old daughter.

The sharp-shooter extended his NBA-record to 114 games with a 3-pointer in Friday’s 125-99 victory over the 76ers.

Nunnally made impression: Nunnally, signed from the NBA Development League, appeared in four games during his stint with the Hawks. He averaged 4.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 13.6 minutes. His scored his first career NBA points in the Hawks game against the Nets in London.

“I think he is a young player who is knocking on the door, so to speak,” Budenholzer said. “In time, he is going to find a place in this league. (He has an) ability to shoot. He has size. He is a good person. He really impressed everybody here in the organization. He did well for himself.”

Nunnally returned to the D-League and will again play for the Bakersfield (Calif.) Jam.

Mack honored: Shelvin Mack played 23 games with the Maine Red Claws of the D-League in 2012-13. It earned him a bobblehead.

The Red Claws will have a Shelvin Mack Bobblehead night March 31.

Mack, in three stints with the Red Claws, averaged 20.1 points, 7.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds. He was also named a D-League All-Star.

New signature: With Saturday marking the first day on the job for NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, the league debuted balls with his signature. For the past 30 years, game balls bore the signature of Commissioner David Stern.

Teams have been using the new balls in practices to break them in in advance of Saturday.
