Report card

Offense: A-minus

The Hawks shot the ball extremely well, 54.4 percent from the field and 46.4 percent from 3-point range. They totaled 13 3-pointers from eight different players. Other than a 20-point third quarter, the Hawks scored at least 26 points a period. The Hawks protected the ball. The Hawks did surrender too many offensive rebounds and second-chance points. The tempo was excellent.

Defense: A

The Lakers were injury depleted but the Hawks stymied them allowing a high of 23 points in the third quarter and less than 20 points in the other three. The Lakers shot just 34.1 percent from the field and a woeful 18.5 percent (5 of 27) from 3-point range. Limiting D’Angelo Russell was a priority and they did that in a big way.
