The Hawks concluded a three-day stint at the University of Georgia to kick off training camp Thursday.
The team held five practices over the stay at the Colisuem Training Facility. Coach Mike Budenholzer was pleased with what the team accomplished.
“It was excellent,” Budenholzer said. “I think the guys’ effort, energy, competitiveness really sets the tone for us going into the season.”
Budenholzer was non-committal on whether the Hawks will return for a third straight season next year. He said that decision will be made well in the future.
The Hawks will not practice Friday. They will return to the court in Atlanta on Saturday in preparation for the opening game of the exhibition season Monday against the Pelicans at Philips Arena.
