Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals between the Hawks and Cavaliers on TNT averaged a 5.6 overnight rating, according to the network. The rating represents a 12 percent increase over last year’s Western Conference final between the Thunder and Spurs.
The telecast peaked with a 6.7 rating from 11-11:15 p.m.
With Game 1 and Inside the NBA, TNT had the two highest rated programs on all cable television with a 2.6 overnight rating, based on Nielson metered ratings.
The top five local markets for Game 1 were Cleveland (31.4 rating), Atlanta (15.4), Columbus, Ohio (13.8), Norfolk, Virginia (10.2) and Birmingham, Alabama (9.2).
