The Hawks announced the signing of undrafted free agent Matt Costello on Tuesday. The two-year minimum contract is guaranteed for $50,000.

The team and the 6-foot-9 forward/center from Michigan State agreed to a partially guaranteed contract in June. Costello was part of the Hawks’ entry in the Las Vegas Summer League earlier this month and will participate in training camp in September. He averaged 5.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists while playing in all six games of the summer league tournament.

Costello played four seasons at Michigan State. As a senior, he averaged 10.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks in 22.9 minutes in 35 games. He impressed the Hawks with his pre-draft workout.

The Hawks have 17 players under contract before training camp.
