The Hawks will open the 2016-17 regular season at home against the Wizards on Thursday, Oct. 27.
The Hawks’ schedule, released by the NBA on Thursday, features eight nationally televised games, four each on ESPN and TNT.
In games of interest:
* Al Horford makes his first appearance against the Hawks as a new member of the Celtics on Jan. 18 at Philips Arena.
* Jeff Teague make his first appearance against the Hawks as a new member of the Pacers on Nov. 23 in Indianapolis. He will make his first trip to Philips Arena as a vistor on March 5.
* Dwight Howard will return to Houston for the first time since signing with the Hawks on Feb. 2.
* The NBA champion Cavaliers will be at Philips Arena on March 3 and April 9. They played in Atlanta only once last season. The Hawks are in Cleveland on Nov. 8 and April 7.
* The Hawks will face the Warriors in Oakland on Nov. 28 and in Atlanta on March 6.
* The Hawks will face the Raptors, Pacers, Celtics and Pistons only three times. They make only one trip to Boston and Detroit.
Also, the Hawks did move their weekday start times to 7:30 p.m. for games Monday through Thursday. The team will remain with an 8 p.m. start time on Friday. Game times for Saturday and Sunday will vary.
