A brief recap of the Hawks’ victory against Milwaukee, which gave them a 3-1 season series edge against the Bucks:

How the game was won: All five Atlanta starters returned to the lineup after missing Saturday's loss in Charlotte, and DeMarre Carroll led the way with 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots in one of his finest all-around games. The Hawks were not sharp offensively through the first two-plus quarters, but they were stout on defense as Al Horford (18 points, seven rebounds) and Paul Millsap (15 points, nine rebounds) were problematic for Milwaukee. Jeff Teague made but 2 of 8 shots while scoring eight, yet pitched in nine of Atlanta's 29 assists. Atlanta's bench was hampered by the second-quarter loss of backup point guard Dennis Schroder to a toe injury of undetermined severity.

Turning point: There wasn't one, but it was noteworthy in the third quarter when Kyle Korver scored all 11 of his points in a span of 1:05. He hit a 3-pointer, a jumper, and back-to-back 3-pointers as Milwaukee missed three consecutive shots and the Hawks pushed their lead to 67-51.

Number: 1. At 56-18, the Hawks are one win from tying the franchise record for victories in a season.

Next: The Hawks will play at the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night.
